Settimo 2009 (Italy)

On the 26 th of September 2009, the first Italian tournament of Shuuro was held as part of the ‘Settimo in Gioco 09’ game event in Settimo Torinese, in the outskirts of Turin.

Thanks to Sirio Smeriglio and all of the other guys of the Terre Selvagge gaming club that helped organising the tournament.

The tournament used the Shuuro 220 system, which is mini-Shuuro, except that armies have a limit of 220 points and the pieces have the following limits:

0-2 queens, 0-3 rooks, 0-4 bishops, 0-4 knights and 0-5 pawns.

The players battled hard for over 4 hours, in a series of 4 game turns.

In the end, the results were:

  1. Gianfranco Sartoretti (aka Mago G)
  2. Alex Ferrari
  3. KarinHsikou
  4. Luca Riccio
  5. Diego Barbera
  6. Gianfranco Romano
  7. Leonardo Ligustri
  8. Greta Clemente

Shuuro 220 tournament winner: Gianfranco Sartoretti aka Mago G

So, congratulations to Gianfranco Sartoretti (‘Mago G’), who won the vouchers offered by Terre Selvagge and a box of Shuuro. He commented:

“The games were dominated by Knights. They were my key choice in winning the tournament. I am one of the founding members of the GiocaTorino association, devoted to promoting gaming culture in Italy, why don’t we have another tournament of Shuuro at our GiocaTorino event in November?!”
